Gift Ideas for a first birthday!
Its hard to believe, but our little babe is turning one in under a week! Its hard to know what to get a one year old so I made a list of things that we are either getting for him, or already know that he loves to help make it easier on you!
- Pikler Triangle, Rocker, slide/climbing board Our big gift for our little babe is something that I have been wanting to get him for the past three months. It is a bit of an investment but it can be used from birth if you were to get it then. It is a rocker/slide combo. If you’re little one is like ours they are climbing all over the place. I wanted a safe place for him to do this and the rocker/slide combo seemed like the perfect fit! I have friends who rave about this! The rocker can be used when they are younger as a rocker, or even when they are infants as an activity gym by attaching things to the top. Also I plan to add a pikler triangle to the set at Christmas time! I also love the fact that you can keep adding on as future presents! We got ours from Merstorf Customs they were a breeze to work with. Their prices are so affordable and the returning customers get a 10% discount. This is awesome for us as like I said this is just the beginning for us! We plan on continuing to add on! Also they are local and who doesn’t love supporting local! They will ship anywhere within Canada . Below are some photos of what you can get from them! Visit them at https://www.facebook.com/merstorfcustoms/

2. Kids Kitchen One thing our babe uses daily is his kitchen! He sees me in my kitchen every day and loves to imitate, therefore he loves his kitchen. When I say he uses it daily I mean it. When I am still waking up he will play with his kitchen and bring me things he has made. I love watching him in his kitchen, I absolutely adore the fact that he is trying to imitate his mama. My sister has a kitchen and my mom has the step 2 coffee house and Theo adores both. The kitchen I bought for him doesn’t compare to the one my mom and sister have! I have attached a couple below I recommend.
3. Dyson Vaccum We have two big dogs in our house and a baby running around, therefore I am vacuuming daily. Theo loves to watch me vacuum and is often trying to steal the vacuum away from me. So I figured a vacuum would be an excellent present for Theo! Dyson makes a vacuum that actually works, I know hes not going to be perfect at vacuuming, but trust me with the amount of dog fur I deal with on a daily basis any vacuuming will help.
4. Ice Cream Truck Theo has started to become very interested in an ice cream cone that came with his kitchen. He also is very interested in cupcakes toys my sister has. I found this cute ice cream shop play set that also comes with cupcakes. It seems like the perfect little toy for him and even better it is affordable!
5. Clothes Clothes are always a good idea! Kids grow so quickly that they are constantly growing out of clothes, and because its a first birthday the baby is likely going to be more interested in the wrapping more than the present, therefore the parents will be very appreciative. H&M has great clothes at a reasonable price. Zara also has adorable kids clothes although they can be a bit more costly, although if you go into the store they often have good sales! Gap is always a great option or even old navy. Below are some of my favourite fall finds.

6. Books Theo brings me books all day long to ready for him! Below are some of his favourites books and some cute ones I ordered for his birthday!

7. Little tikes Truck Theo got a little blue truck from little tikes from his grandparents as an early birthday present! He loves it because its just like the truck in one of his favourite books Little Blue Truck. I also hope to include it as decor for his first birthday! I do love that it also comes with a foot board so when they are his age and haven’t figured out how to use his feet to get it going we can use the foot board and take him for walks in it with the handle on the hood of the truck!
8. Water Table If your baby is born in Spring or Summer and you don’t already have a water table it is the perfect gift! Theo adores his water table,we used it all summer long. Its a great outdoor activity that helps your little one keep cool.

9. Stacking Cups Theo has been so interested in stacking cups lately! You can also find ones specific for the bath, or if your little one has a water table they can use them there as well!

10. Activity Gift Cards For my nieces first birthday we all got her gift cards for different types of activities. We didn’t want to overrun my sisters house with toys and this seemed like a great idea. Some ideas for gift cards are zoo, science center, amusement parks, Christmas market, and kids play places (post Covid) are always great places to take toddlers
I hope this list helps! Leave a comment if there is something great I missed!
